As Black City Sanctuary, we consider ourselves a unique and versatile rock band.  All of our original music is just that: original.  You will not hear clones of popular music in our repertoire.  We strive for a mature, technical sound that transcends genres and is appealing to all listeners

Eleven years of experience playing with the same members has given us an energetic, tight performance. Aside from our repertoire of original music, we also perform a collection of cover songs that we find meaningful and appropriate for almost any audience. Simply put, our goal is to be a crowd pleasing rock band like no other.

Many people ask where the name Black City Sanctuary came from. It is derived from our hometown of Lenoir City, TN. Lenoir can be literally translated as "the black" (le+noir) in French. Like many people do, we have always sought refuge from the outside world through music. Our name alludes to the power of music to build a “sanctuary” around the listener and, for a time, block out all the problems of the world around them. We hope that through our music we are able to help our fans and listeners find a positive way to temporarily escape their worldly problems and find a little solace in this hectic “black city” in which we all live.

The new album, "El Matador" features the following songs:

El Matador, Eugenius, How Does It Feel?,  Spanish Pirate Ghost, Mad Dog Monologue, 100 Proof Pimp

Album Length: approx. 42 minutes. Short but action packed.  We don't do "filler" tracks.  Nobody listens to those anyway.
